Raven Ray Rice Wife Abuse: Spouse Says Farewell to Domestic Violence and 2014

2014 was not an easy year for abused NFL wife Janay Rice. In turn, she and several of her girlfriends joined together in some New Year's Eve fun and said farewell to the hard times associated with the past year. All in all, it is hard to believe that such abuse can be forgiven or forgotten. However, Ray made some statements after the incident that implied he was and is trying to make things right. Apparently, his apologies haven't fallen on deaf ears.

Ray Rice was arrested and later indicted for third-degree aggravated assault that took place in March of last year. TMZ released a video of the former Ravens star punching his then finance, Janay, in the face. The assault left the beauty unconscious for several minutes, and Ray even had to physically carry her away from the scene.

The incident started an uproar in the media, on the Internet and in the NFL. The league even instated policy changes to the guidelines concerning players involved in domestic violence. The President has even addressed the matter and its negative impact on our nation.

Regardless of the public's opinions, Janay has decided to stand by her man. TMZ Sports recently reported that she and several her girlfriends said so long to 2014 in style:

"To say 2014 was a rough year for Janay Rice is an extreme understatement ... which is probably why she ushered in the new year with a dance party....Janay -- along with about a dozen other ladies -- recreated Beyonce's "7/11" last night ... while sporting some "Happy New Year" gear...Earlier in the night, Janay spent some time with her husband Ray Rice and their daughter ... posting a family photo along with the caption, "Happy New Year from my family to yours."

Even though it is hard to understand the situation, it is easy to see that she really does care for him, and according to SB Nation, Ray has been doing a good job at keeping his family together:

"Ray Rice spoke on May 23 for the first time since being arrested following an altercation with his then-fiancee, now-wife Janay Palmer in Atlantic City in February. Speaking at a news conference, Rice apologized for 'the situation my wife and I were in,' and promised reporters that he is 'working every day to be a father, a better husband and a better role model.'"
