Chicago Bear star Brandon Marshall has faced a lot of controversy thoughout his career. Multiple domestic violence and assault allegations have been made, and Marshall has been able to wiggle his way out of most of them. In recent news, Brandon has failed to defend himself in the most recent assault case due to his inability to board a plane.
Before the NFL, Marshall played college ball for the University of Central Florida. The Denver Broncos drafted him into the big leagues in 2004.
His reputation for breaking tackles and scoring touchdowns has resulted in a long and successful professional career. He has played for the Denver Broncos, the Miami Dolphins and the Chicago Bears.
He has competed in multiple Pro Bowls, been award Pro Bowl MVP and is considered All-Pro. Even with a respectable reputation on the field, Marshall is better known for his less glamorous off-the-field activities. According to Heavy, Brandon has quite the rap sheet:
"The list of Marshall's run-ins with the law is long and dates back to 2004...Over a five-year period, a slew of police reports were filed containing allegations against Marshall, several of which involved accusations that he assaulted [a woman] and one of which involved a fight between Marshall and his father in which Marshall's father claimed Marshall fired a shot with a gun."
Now, reports are suggesting that Marshall failed to make it to his most recent deposition. According to TMZ Sports, the Bears star cannot fly due to a collapsed lung:
"Chicago Bears superstar Brandon Marshall says he's on a 4-week timeout from flying -- and can't get on a plane to NYC for a deposition in his assault case...all because of his collapsed lung. The wide receiver was scheduled to appear for the depo on December 9th to defend himself against allegations he punched a woman...in 2012. But in court docs obtained by claims there's no way in hell he could've made it to the deposition because doctors have put him on a 'no-fly restriction'..."
