Carolina Panthers 2014 Curse: Trash Talk, Drug Suspensions, New Orleans Saints Fight

It looks like the Panthers are making fans wait yet another season to see if the team can get it together, because this year they cannot. Instead, the team just got into an unnecessary and tactless brawl with the New Orleans Saints. Unfortunately, this is just the latest in a long string of unfortunate events this year, which kicked off with a number of drug suspensions for Caroline players.

The Panthers haven't won a conference championship in over 20 years. Last year was the first time they got anything moving since 2008, and not to mention they still lost.

Now this year it's just more of the same news. Carolina has a miserable record of 4-8-1.

Fans are loosing faith in Carolina faster than the Redskins' are in RGIII. Now, According to Yahoo Sports, the boys in blue and black got into a tacky and tasteless brawl:

"Those emotions boiled over on the field as the Panthers took a shocking 17-0 first-quarter lead over the Saints en route to a 41-10 blowout victory on Sunday. Panthers quarterback Cam Newton rushed for a touchdown to make the score 16-0 prior to the extra point, and Newton celebrated the TD by appearing to taunt defensive end Cameron Jordan, for a little Cam-on-Cam action. Jordan got...in Newton's face. Newton walked away, did his patented Superman celebration and was pushed from behind by linebacker Curtis Lofton.

From that moment on, it was a full out brawl. Members from both teams were involved, until a flag was thrown...but not before some real damage was done.

Moreover, the Panthers really can't handle any extra damage this season. According to Covers, they have already had enough:

"Early in the morning, running back DeAngelo Williams posted a tweet that showed his right ankle in a cast. A few hours later, receiver Steve Smith, eviscerated Carolina general manager Dave Gettleman and head coach Ron Rivera during an interview on a Charlotte radio station. Then, defensive end Frank Alexander was suspended 10 games after violating the league's substance abuse policy for the second time since May."

What do you think? Was the fight tactless? Can the Panthers handle any more drama this year? What about next year? Can Cam and the boys pull it together and get things moving? Let us know in the comment section below.
