NFL Confirmed as ANTI-GAY? Michael Sam and Chris Kluwe Statements Suggest So

The NFL has received a lot heat lately, and it turns out they are under fire yet again, as NFL prospect Michael Sam says he believes another team hasn't picked him up because he is openly gay. This reminds us of Chris Kluwe's similar accusations made earlier in the year. The evidence is stacked.

Sam played college ball for the University of Missouri. After that, he was drafted in the 7th round of the 2014 NFL draft. Unfortunately, he was let go by the end of training camp.

The league is known for doing whatever it takes to maintain a high standard of approval amongst the nation's population. According to TMZ Sports, Sam believes this was the case when he was reportedly cut for being gay:

"Michael Sam believes he's not on a NFL roster because of the fact he's openly gay -- telling TMZ Sports he strongly believes he's got the talent to play in the league. Sam was at LAX...when he was asked if he thinks NFL teams are shying away from him because of his sexual orientation...or if it has to do with the level of talent he faced after college. 'I think I was the SEC Defensive Player of the Year last year...so I don't think it had to do with talent.' Translation -- he believes he's on the outs because he's out."

The NFL has yet to respond to Sam's allegations, however, one does start to wonder after multiple claims surface.

According to Deadspin, earlier in the year another openly gay ex-NFL player Chris Kluwe made a similar accusation:

"In May 2013, the Vikings released me from the team. At the time, quite a few people asked me if I thought it was because of my recent activism for same-sex marriage rights...My answer, verbatim, was always, 'I honestly don't know, because I'm not in those meetings with the coaches and administrative people.' This is a true answer. I honestly don't know if my activism was the reason I got fired. However, I'm pretty confident it was."
