BK Racing Owner Anthony Marlowe Apologizes for Disrespectful Cole Whitt Twitter Feud, After Sprint Cup Series Results

Cole Whitt drives the #26 Toyota Camry for BK Racing and, overall, he has an extraordinary driving record. In fact, the 23-year-old out of Alpine, California recently completed his first full season in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, finishing 31st in the overall standings as a Sunoco Rookie of the Year candidate. However, Whitt's first year hasn't gone as smoothly as he would have liked. Anthony Marlowe, BK Racing minority owner, made some sly remarks involving Whitt driving in a spot that is already filled. Now, Marlowe has apologized for the sarcastic tweet made earlier in the month.

It has to be hard being a young up and comer in a sport as physically and mentally demanding as NASCAR. So, it had to really feel like he was being bullied when Cole read Marlowe's tweets. Yahoo Sports reports on the situation:

"... Marlowe referenced Whitt driving the No. 34 for the Front Row next season. Davis Ragan drove No. 34 in 2014 and won in the car last Talladega. On Wednesday, FRM issued a statement that it expected Ragan to run No. 34 car in 2015."

The sly remarks from Marlowe are definite low blows, and they haven't accomplished anything except making BK Racing look bad. It's a shame that a NASCAR star, who makes owners millions, are treated with such disrespect. One also tends to wonder if Marlowe's statements are sincere. NBC Sports has the full statement:

"I did not intend for it to make national news...Aside from it being smart alecky, it was just a tweet congratulating a friend, and current supplier of driver services on his ride for next year..."

Let us know what you think. What do you think Cole Whitt's reaction to the apology is? Is Marlowe sincere in his statement? Be sure to post in the comment section below.
