Fox is all new tonight with a brand new episode of Zooey Deschanel’s New Girl. Recently, WWE wrestler Mick Foley (Mankind, Cactus Jack, Dude Love, St. Mick) was asked to play Santa Claus on the series. Foley is a Santa Claus enthusiast, and was born to play the role, so fans were surprised when he turned it down. Now Foley has opened up about why he had to “Say No To Zoey.”
The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new episode of “New Girl,” reads: Background Check
“The loft is subjected to a home visit and a background check as part of Winston's police-academy training, but some items hidden in Jess' closet may pose a problem.”

New Girl is getting ready for it’s Holiday episode, and they asked Christmas enthusiast and WWE legend Mick “Mankind” Foley to play Santa. However, it was Mick’s love for the beloved icon that lead him to turn down the role, writing on his Facebook:
“How in the world do you say no to one of your favorite actresses, Zooey Deschanel when it comes to doing a scene with her on one of your favorite shows, New Girl - especially when getting to play the role of Santa Claus for the Christmas episode of the show?
“It wasn't easy. In fact, it was heartbreaking! I got the inquiry from my agent (I wasn't definitely ‘in’, but really think I would have gotten the role) and was absolutely thrilled...until I saw that the role called for me to be a rather sleazy St Nick, throwing some sexual innuendos at the lovely Ms Deschanel--and unfortunately, I just can't do that as Santa.”
Foley, or Saint Mick, as some lovingly call him, can be seen playing Father Christmas, in the new Mall-Santa documentary film, “I am Santa Claus:”
Foley, went on to mention that the possible plug for his new film was tempting to turn down:
“I just can't do it as Santa. Sure, it would have been great publicity for the release of I Am Santa Claus, and I could have probably talked Zooey into taking a photo with me for #FoleyIsElfWeek2--part of my 365 day#FoleyIsSanta challenge (currently at day #308) But it just would have felt wrong.”
