Valery Gergiev and the Mariinsky Orchestra Return to Chicago During U.S. Tour
The Mariinsky Orchestra, led by Valery Gergiev, will return to Symphony Center on October 2 with an all-Stravinsky program, featuring The Firebird, Petrushka and The Rite of Spring. Singer and actor Harry Belafonte has been given a special award by Amnesty International. The 86-year-old entertainer was presented with the Ambassador of Conscience Award at the Mansion House in Dublin.
