The time, dear Classicalites, has come.
Yes, Big Ears Festival 2014 has finally posted its daily line up.
We already know our main acts: Steve Reich--who is the minimalist in residence--and other acts such as Body/Head, John Cale (who are both performing Friday) and Television (playing on Saturday).
But the lineup now extends further to fully embody the festival's core audience.
Joining Television on Saturday's performance will be Oneohtrix Point Never, So Percussion performing Steve Reich's Drumming, Marc Ribot and his performance of the original score to Charlie Chaplin's The Kid, Susanna, Jenny Hval and more.
On Sunday, Reich dominates again with a performance of the should-have-won-a-Pulitzer Music for 18 Musicians by Ensemble Signal, as well as Radio Rewrite and Electric Counterpoint care of Jonny Greenwood.
Fellow DG label mate Bryce Dessner, too, joins the lineup with other first-call players.
With still more artists to come, make sure you get your tickets soon. Weekend passes are available now.
Daily tickets will be up for sale this Friday.
A hand, then, for Knoxville, Tenn's Big Ears Festival. Welcome back, friends.
