Rumors are running rampant that New Japan Pro Wrestling stars AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura and the rest of NJPW's Bullet Club will be stateside and in the WWE as soon as February. This would allow them either a few months in NXT to prepare for a main roster push to enter the WWE before the Road to WrestleMania 33 begins, or put them smack dab in the middle of a main event feud for WrestleMania 32. With Finn Balor extremely over in NXT right now, and the Royal Rumble being for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship this year, realigning Balor with his former Bullet Club stablemates would make them the most legitimate stable in the WWE in a long time, and a threat to nearly every championship.
Should Balor win the Royal Rumble, which has been rumored recently, it would be a shock, but luckily the WWE has more than enough star power set for this WrestleMania that they can have new talent main event the show. In fact, it might draw even more of a crowd to have independent stars main event the biggest show of the year so early in their WWE careers. After all, these are the same fans that sided with CM Punk and didn't want someone who left the industry winning the 2014 Royal Rumble, when Batista returned to win. Having someone who has paid their dues on the independent circuit come in, win the title and main event WrestleMania would make fans of wrestling, not sports entertainment, extremely happy.
The WWE can afford the main event not having the biggest names, because there are already big appearances planned for the event. Most notable, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has already confirmed an appearance and Stone Cold is expected to appear. Sting will also be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, so his appearance is almost guaranteed. Despite big names like John Cena, Randy Orton and Seth Rollins not appearing at the show, these legends will bring the name power to allow the WWE the liberty of pushing young talent in the main event.
If Balor were to defend his title against another independent superstar, such as Kevin Owens, it would bring in a whole group of people who have no interest in WWE right now. Many people on wrestling forums around the internet only watch independent wrestling and believe the WWE won't allow indy stars to succeed. Showing two men who had cult followings before their time in WWE getting the main event of the company's most popular event would draw in fans who did not watch before.
While Balor himself might not be enough, adding in his former Bullet Club mates and making a legitimate stable that can also contend for tag team and other singles titles would be extremely beneficial, as we've seen stables like the nWo, DX and even the Shield boost ratings and interest. Bullet Club, or Balor Club if the WWE chooses that name, would bring in many fans from around the world to the WWE.
