Sugarland singer and Broadway’s own, Roxy Hart (Chicago) Jennifer Nettles is on top of the world right now. For the sixth year a row, Nettles hosted the CMA Country Christmas special. However, that isn’t all Nettle’s has in store for you this Christmas season. Nettles is starting in the all new Dolly Parton TV movie Coat of Many Colors. The new NBC special, airing on Dec 10, tells the real life story of Dolly Parton’s childhood. Check out the report below for a look at the upcoming special.
Recently, Jennifer Nettles opened up about her upcoming Dolly Parton film, Coat of Many Colors, telling Taste of Country:
“It’s called Coat of Many Colors, it’ll be out Dec. 10 on NBC. It’s the story of Dolly Parton’s childhood and I play her mother when she was a little girl.”
Nettles is also working on a new record of her own as well embarking on the CMT Next Women of Country Tour, as went on
"I’m gonna be going out and doing that starting in January. It’ll be to promote CMT and the Next Women of Country, but also my new album."
The TV movie, which tells the true story of Dolly Parton’s childhood, is based on the 1971 song of the same name. In the introductory video for the first trailer, Dolly Parton discusses her attachment to the track, saying:
“My favorite song that I’ve ever written tells a true story from my childhood about a little coat that my mama made for me.”
