‘Charlie Brown Christmas Special’ 50th Anniversary with ‘Wicked’ Kristin Chenoweth

Grab the kids and get ready to do your best Snoopy dance, because The Charlie Brown Christmas special airs tonight and it is bigger and better than ever. This year marks the fifty year that Charlie Brown, Linus Van Pelt and the rest of the Peanuts gang have taught us all a valuable lesson about the true meaning of Christmas. For the last 50 years the world has been a slightly better place because Charles Schultz’s animated special has reached through our televisions, into our living rooms and into our hearts. Now some of Charlie Brown’s biggest fans are coming together to honor this timeless holiday classic. Tonight Broadway’s own Sally Brown, Kristin Chenoweth (Wicked, Disney’s Descendants) teaches us all what “Happiness” is,with a little help from Glee’s Matthew Morrison, Frozen’s Kristen Bell and many, many more. Check out the report to see just what all ABC has in store for us tonight.

The official event description for the all new It's Your 50th Christmas, Charlie Brown special, reads:

“The 50th anniversary of ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ is celebrated during a retrospective hosted by Kristen Bell and featuring the music of Vince Guaraldi. Included: Kristin Chenoweth sings ‘Happiness’ from the 'Peanuts’ musical; and Matthew Morrison performs the original song ‘Just Like Me." Also on tap: Sarah McLachlan; Boyz II Men; Pentatonix; David Benoit; and the All-American Boys Chorus.”

Tonight, Kristin Chenoweth performs the classic number from the You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown, Broadway show and animated special.

Fans of the musical will likely remember Chenoweth as Sally Brown from the Broadway revival.
