Comic Movie News: 'Justice League Dark' Has Eyes on Their John Constantine

There is a rumor that has surfaced that says that Justice League Dark has narrowed the role of John Constantine down to two actors. With the studio agreeing with Guillermo Del Toro that Ron Perlman should be sought out for the role of Swamp Thing, it appears that the studio is moving forward with the film.

According to reports at Latino Review, Justice League Dark is eyeing two different actors for the role of John Constantine, Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor. This is just a rumor, so take this news with a grain of salt. The source states that whichever actor get chosen for the role, the other will be offered the role of Jason Blood. Jason Blood is the human alias of the demon character Etrigan.

The film will not focus on the heroes as much, and will focus more on the supernatural/ magical side of DC universe. Although Guillermo Del Toro has left the project, the studio was really excited with the script. Their decision is no doubt being affected by the fan response to the Suicide Squad film. Del Toro having previously stated that he has left the film due to a conflict with the filming schedule for Pacific Rim 2.

There has not been any casting news from the studio for the film, this news sheds light on the direction the studio is looking to go. I wish that the studio would approach Matt Ryan for the role of John Constantine, due to the fact that he was brilliant in the role on the Constantine television show.

Ron Perlman is being eyed by the studio to play the role of Swamp Thing, which would put the actor back in an extensive costume involving tons of prosthetics, something he has stated was the worst part about playing Hellboy. In Del Toro's script the team will be comprised of John Constantine, Deadman, Swamp Thing, Zatanna, and Etrigan the Demon.
