View Rosie O’Donnell Dating Tatum O’Neal; Joy Behar Not Apologizing?

While it seems that Rosie O'Donnell's adopted daughter never gets tired of talking smack about her mother, her ex-girlfriend, Tatum O'Neal, is reportedly ready to give the former View cohost a second chance. According to the latest gossip new updates, the League of Their Own actress is dating John McEnroe's ex-wife, once again, despite their supposedly having split over the summer. Meanwhile, current cast member, Joy Behar, claims that show has gotten too politically correct to be entertaining, and Meredith Vieira seems to agree.

Rosie O'Donnell's daughter, Chelsea, may not love her mom, but Tatum O'Neal apparently just can't help herself.

One source in the latest November 30, issue of Star magazine that although they may have broken up for a bit last summer, Tatum O'Neal just can't quit Rosie:

"Tatum is obsessed with Rosie, but she found it difficult to deal with the nonstop drama in her life.

"They are really into each other...They are determined to make it work."

While her personal life might have its up's and down's, Meredith Vieira seems to agree that Rosie was wise to leave The View as early as she did.

In a recent interview with Page Six, Vieira explained that, while she missed the comradery, the current reincarnation of the show is a bit of an embarrassment (via People):

"I miss my friends, but...it's changed a lot. I'll always care about [the show], but for me it was time to try something different.

"I'm proud of the work we did there, but it's not a good time in the history of that show.

"It's hard to watch. It sort of became a joke."

In a segment of their show last week, Joy Behar seemed to attribute the change in tone to the current panel's desire to appeal to every demographic they can, all at once (via NY Daily News):

"One of my friends said to me yesterday, The View has become, 'We didn't really mean it! We're sorry! We didn't mean to say it like that!'

"We have to stop saying that, I think."

What do you think of the current version of The View?

Should the producers do whatever it takes to reach out to more serious cohosts that won't back down in the face of controversy?

Or, would it be crazy for the panel of The View to start saying even more offensive things than they have been?
