The post credits scene from the end of Ant-Man has been released by Marvel in High Definition, and it is full of Captain America: Civil War spoilers!
Marvel's Ant-Man was a breath of fresh air for a franchise that was hitting the brink of stagnation. There was a little apprehension (on my part) when walking into the theater, but I was pleasantly surprised. Ant-Man was a great heist film, that fit perfectly into Marvel's wonderful catalog of films. The movie was really a lot of fun, and seeing Hank Pym on the big screen in action was a time coming. It was awesome. There was icing on this cupcake as well, we got to see him working with the Wasp as well.
This film didn't just have one Ant-Man, it had two, giving Marvel the ability to place Pym's Ant-Man in the decade he started in (more-or-less), and has Paul Rudd's Scott Lang taking over the ropes as the Ant-Man for a new generation. He is not as much of a d*** as Hank was in the comics, but he is still a sarcastic ass. The dynamic between Douglas and Rudd is great, and throwing in the tension with Pym's daughter is a welcomed addition.
Now, we are on the precipice of Ant-Man's Blu-ray release and Marvel has given us a gem, the end credits scene from the film that is full of Captain America: Civil War spoilers. Check out the scene below:
There is a lot to digest in this film. At the end of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) aka The Falcon takes off in search of the Winter Soldier. At the time, the intentions of Falcon and Cap are unknown. In the scene, we see that they have finally caught him, and have him hung up for the moment. He and Cap are discussing telling Tony Stark about capturing the Winter Soldier, and Cap says that the Accords will not allow it.
This is obviously tidbits from Civil War, and the Accords, it can be assumed, are guidelines set by the government. This means that there are interesting things brewing behind the scenes building up to the events of the film. There will be interesting things coming soon. This is the best part about Marvel, starting a new phase and enjoying the big lead up.
