1. Get Darren McFadden Going Early and Often
Matt Cassel has not been the type of starting quarterback that will power the Cowboys to wins. That means that the Cowboys have to establish their ground game early and often with Darren McFadden. He has been very solid since winning the starting job over Joseph Randle and there is no reason why he shouldn't have a big game against the Buccaneers.
2. Matt Cassel Must Take Care of the Football
Perhaps the most obvious key when it comes to Matt Cassel this week is taking care of the football. Tampa Bay has a few playmakers on the defensive side of the football and there will be some situations where Cassel has to make quick decisions. If the Cowboys want to come away with a win this week, not turning the football over is a must.
3. Dez Bryant Must Step Up and Have a Massive Game
Due to having a backup quarterback like Cassel leading the way, the pressure comes down on Dez Bryan't shoulders to put up a big game. Tampa Bay doesn't have any defensive back that can lock him down and Jason Garrett will need his star receiver to step up. Bryant is in his third game back since injuring his foot and needs to show that he is back to near 100 percent for his team.
4. The Defense Must Put Pressure on Jameis Winston
One thing that can force young quarterbacks to make key mistakes is pressure, which is exactly what the Cowboys must do this week. Jameis Winston is a very talented quarterback and the potential is there for a turnover or two if the Cowboys can put pressure on him. Dialing up that pressure is a must for the Cowboys and it will be intriguing to see what their defensive game plan is.
5. Execute Well Down the Stretch of the Fourth Quarter
Execution is the most important thing in any sport on the offensive side of the ball and the Cowboys have to be able to execute in the fourth quarter. This game is going to come down to the wire and the Cowboys have to figure out ways to make plays in the fourth to close out the game.
