Penny Arcade Tweet Suggests PAX East Tickets On-Sale Soon

Gamers rejoice! PAX East tickets will be going on sell very soon. In mid-October, Penny Arcade reminded fans that the badge launch for PAX East happens in the fall after PAX AUS has been wrapped up. Well, that con ended earlier this week and now officials have posted a new teaser tweet @PaxEast2016 suggesting that tickets will be on-sale soon, "The countdown is down to 170 days! Almost there..."

According to one official Facebook post, PAX East 2016 will be held at The Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC) in Boston, MA from April 22nd to April 24th, which lines up perfectly with that 170 day mark. In the same post, Penny Arcade made it clear tickets will go on sell some time in the Fall. If you are at all familiar with PAX ticket protocol, there will be no early announcement of ticket sell dates. You just have to keep an eye on Facebook and Twitter for details.

When they do go on sell, you will be able to pick up your tickets and badges on the official PAX website, but you will have to move fast. PAX cons have a history of selling out before the event takes place. With regard to Pax East 2014, Egadget reported, "Less than an hour after registration opened for the upcoming Penny Arcade-sponsored event, the group's initial allocation of three-day passes sold out completely."

For those of you unfamiliar with PAX, it is the beautiful brainchild of Penny Arcade and was the world's first exclusively gaming con. According to the official PAX history, PAX began in 2014 and, "Since then, the show hasn't looked back. Doubling in size each year until venue capacities were reached, in 2010 the show expanded into Boston for PAX East, drawing tens of thousands of attendees in the inaugural year. The shows in Seattle and Boston represent the two largest gaming events in North America!"

Huge gaming news is often fist released at PAX conventions. For example, last year, Arena.net made the announcement of the first expansion to the MMO Guild Wars, Guild Wars II: Heart of Thornes which is now live. Shortly their after, Arena.net blew fans away when they broadcasted the following invitation on their website, "Join ArenaNet at PAX East 2015 for the world premiere of the playable demo of our first expansion, Guild Wars 2: Heart of ThornsTM." Other games revealed at PAX include Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft in 2013, League of Legends, Portal 2 and Duke Nukem Forever.
