Although, Daniel Craig made statements about regretting taking the job shortly after it was announced that way back when that he was the new 007, some folks are claiming that the Hollywood heartthrob is really walking away from the franchise to save his marriage to Rachel Weisz. According to the latest gossip news update, James Bond's wife demanded that Craig quit the very popular series or she would be getting a divorce. Even more interesting than the nonsense about Criag's marriage is the very real report that he dismissed Samsung's attempt to get one of their phones in the movie, following the criticism that came with Heineken's product placement in in the last Bond film, Skyfall.
In a recent interview, 47-year-old James Bond actor Daniel Craig joked that he would rather slit his wrist than make one more 007 movie, but a few of the tabloids are claiming that it was really his wife, Rachel Weisz -- not Craig -- who hates her husband playing the international man of mystery.
One source in the latest November 9, issue of the National Enquirer claims that Weisz threatened to divorce Daniel if this fourth Bond film was not his last:
"Rachel feels overshadowed by Bond. [Daniel] is often swarmed by fans for a picture when they're together, and Rachel often gets pushed aside.
"Rachel has accused him of being more in love with Bond than her...She married Daniel, she didn't bargain for James Bond."
Despite the reports that Bond brings out the worst in Rachel, the UK's Mirror reports that she seemed as in love with Daniel as ever while walking the red carpet at Spectre's premiere in London:
"Rachel Weisz couldn't keep her hands off her husband Daniel, who plays James Bond in the latest 007 instalment and he shared a passionate kiss with her as they waited to meet royal guests Prince Harry, Prince William and Kate Middleton along with his fellow cast members.
"After a grueling red carpet, where some fans had queued since Saturday to catch a glimpse of the leading star, Daniel grabbed his wife for a full on smooch before his latest outing as Bond debuted at the Royal Albert Hall."
While it seems that there is nothing wrong in Craig's marriage, his relationship with Samsung is likely to be a little frayed in the wake of the actor's refusal to take a big payday in exchange for plugging one of their products in Spectre.
According to the Daily Mail, Daniel and franchise director, Sam Mendes, walked away from tens of millions of dollars because they felt Samsung's phone were not befitting 007:
"Daniel Craig rejected a $50million deal that would have seen 007 using a Samsung mobile phone in new film Spectre because it was not deemed good enough for James Bond.
"The South Korean company had tabled the offer to be the exclusive vendor for the latest installment of the franchise and for Bond to carry its Android phone in the movie."
