After nearly a decade playing the iconic 007 character, Daniel Craig is more than ready to leave the James Bond franchise behind forever. According to the latest gossip news updates, the British actor is ready to devote his energy to his family life with Hollywood wife Rachel Weisz. Word has it that the couple are even hoping to have a baby sometime after Craig is finished with promoting Spectre. Regardless of his reasons for leaving the franchise, Craig has made it clear that the only reason he would ever consider putting on the old tux again would be for a pile of money -- nothing else.
After spending almost twice as long playing James Bond as he has husband to Rachel Weisz, Daniel Craig is ready to leave the part of the well-dressed spy behind to focus on his family.
One source in the latest October 18, issue of OK! Magazine claims that Craig wants to spend his time at home instead of in some far away locale pretending to get drunk on fancy martinis:
"He wants family time to get closer to his stepson.
"He feels like his real life is passing him by."
The family friend that the National Enquirer reportedly spoke to insists that Daniel and Rachel are even planning on having a baby together in the near future, but it isn't going as well as they would have liked:
"The struggle to get pregnant has become stressful on both of them.
"It's breaking her heart that she can't share a child with him -- but Daniel's convinced it will happen when they both least expect it!"
Whatever his reasons for wanting to leave the Bond role behind, Craig told TimeOut, the he doesn't want to go on living if he has to keep pretending to be 007 for even one more film (via NBCNews):
"Now? I'd rather break this glass and slash my wrists.
"No, not at the moment. Not at all. That's fine. I'm over it at the moment. We're done. All I want to do is move on.
"All I care about is that if I stop doing these things we've left it in a good place and people pick it up and make it better."
What do you think about Daniel Craig's seeming to grow so sour on the James Bond franchise?
Is it crazy to think that he would just walk away from a part that most men have to be fired from?
Or, is it about time that one 007 left before he was a shadow of his former self?
Let us hear what you have to say about it in the comment field below.
