For better or worse, Mariah Carey and her new boyfriend, James Packer, have made their relationship official by finally stepping out together on the red carpet. According to the latest gossip news updates, Mimi acknowledged that her billionaire beau was a little lost in front of all the Hollywood bright lights at the recent New York premiere of The Intern but explained there was no way to help him out, while at the same looking her absolute best. Unfortunately, word has it that Mariah is none too thrilled with Packer's relationship with his ex-wife, Erica Baxter and had already accused him of cheating. For his part, Nick Cannon isn't officially seeing anyone, although the America's Got Talent star did recently let it be known that he is absolutely enamored with Chris Brown on Instagram.
In Hollywood no relationship is truly official until the couple walks down at least one paparazzi laden red carpet together, but Mariah Carey claims that in her latest interview with Entertainment Tonight that neither she nor James Packer barely realized when they made their debut at The Intern movie premiere:
"I don't think either one of us thought, 'Here we are, making a debut,' he's not that guy.
"It was a lot for him...I just automatically pose. I can't help it!"
According to Mimi, giving Packer pointers went out the window just as soon as she saw the flash of the red carpet cameras:
"If I did that, I would have had to coach him instead of posing, then I'd look bad in pictures."
Hollywood debut aside, the supermarket tabloids have long insisted that there is already tension behind the scenes between James and Mariah.
One source in the latest November 2, issue of the National Enquirer claims that Packer's relationship with his ex-wife, Erica Baxter, has a paranoid Carey threatening to call the whole thing off:
"Mimi has a jealous streak and has accused James of sharing secret call with his ex!"
While Mariah contemplates what move to take next with James, Nick Cannon is doing his best to make sure that everyone knows just how much he loves and respects Chris Brown as an artist.
Apropos of nothing last week, the America's Got Talent host proclaimed loud and proud on Instagram that he thought Rihanna's hard-hitting ex-boyfriend is as talented as Michael Jackson and 2Pac rolled into one (via Music Times):

"A lot of times we don't realize or acknowledge our treasures while we still have them with us. We wait until they are gone to appreciate their power.
"Think about how much everyone attacked MJ and 2Pac while they were alive...I don't think I have ever witnessed someone more gifted, who has overcome so much and still growing and learning daily."
