Although they are in the midst of getting divorce, word has it that Nick Cannon desperately hopes that Mariah Carey will not marry her new boyfriend, James Packer. According to the latest gossip news updates, the America's Got Talent host is terribly afraid that an engagement would mean less access to his children, Monroe and Morocco. Meanwhile, Mariah's cast and crew for her new Hallmark commercial are reportedly wondering what Nick ever saw in Carey to begin with -- as Carey reportedly drives everyone crazy with her over the top diva demands.
They may be going through a divorce but that doesn't mean that Nick Cannon isn't interested in what is going on in Mariah Carey's personal life.
One source in the latest October 26, issue of In Touch claims that Nick is doing his best to keep Mariah from marrying James Packer and throwing the family status quo out of whack:
"Nick is begging Mariah not to marry James. He loves the co-parenting groove they've been in and he's worried that might change if she gets married to someone else."
As convenient as his bringing the kids into might be, the informant explains that Monroe and Morocco aren't Cannon's only reasons for trying to stand in the way of Mariah getting married:
"He likes being the only man in Mariah's life...Nick will always feel a connection.
"Friends even think he would get back together with her if he had the chance."
While Nick may be secretly pining to have Mariah back in his life, the cast and crew of the latest commercial Carey is directing for Hallmark are reportedly having a hard time even being around the iconic singer at this point.
An onset insider told IT that Mariah often makes everyone wait around for hours while she catches up on her beauty rest (via Daily Mail):
"Our day revolves around her nap schedule.
"She's constantly napping and doesn't like to be woken up. That would be understandable if she were performing, but she's been driven to set every day and not doing much [physical] activity.
"She also insists on having someone hold her drinks as she sips them on set. She will only drink through a straw."
