Infidelity and murder co-star with Nicole Kidman in the upcoming film adaption of the book 'The Silent Wife.' Here are some other rumors coming up about this murderous film.
It's a cliche, really, that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. I suppose the next closest thing would be hell hath no fury like a father who finds out his best friend is having an affair . . . with his daughter. No kidding, the plot of Silent Wife is that a woman (played by Nicole Kidman) discovers that her husband is having an affair with said young woman. "She responds by beginning to plan his murder."
I love how one writer phrased his opinion: "We're going to assume if the best friend figures out what's going on, he's going to assist the wife in murdering the guy. In fact, we figure any guy who would do something like that is actually looking to get murdered. It's the only thing that makes sense."
I really can't think of anything dumber to do affair-wise when it comes to making people want to kill you. I think I'll borrow a disastrous paraphrase from the Republicans last election: "He's asking for it." It reminds a good bit of the "Cell Block Tango" from the musical Chicago.
Directing the murderous affair will be Adrian Lyne of Fatal Attraction and Indecent Proposal fame. And if his "previous work is any indication Silent Wife could end up being quite the steamy film. Lyne has made sex and infidelity a regular topic of study in his career," so I have no doubt this will be a real tease.
I hope that the gal Nicole Kidman plays comes up with an interesting way to off her adulterous husband. Maybe she'll even get away with it. One can only hope that it isn't a simple stabbing affair.
So what are your hopes for this movie? Do you think Kidman will play the part well? Will Silent Wife be a good film adaptation of a book?
