The Apple Watch may not be regarded as a technological breakthrough by everyone, but the company certainly has jazzed up its commercials to make it seem so. As of late, Wu-Tang's RZA takes to a Steinway & Sons piano in the recent "Play" commercial.
Didn't know RZA could play piano? Neither did we, and that is perhaps in part the reason he got the feature. Regardless of its etymology, the artist is seen playing a beautiful grand piano against (you guessed it) an all-white backdrop.
In the commercial, also, RZA outbids a prospective buyer on eBay in purchasing a Korg synthesizer--all from the convenience of his watch and bench. As it would seem, this appears to be a fancy innovation to what we can already do from our phones.
If that advertisement doesn't do it for you, there are other variations of the same theme that are also aids in marketing the watch. There other versions are entitled "Style," "Skate," "Kiss," "Date," "Train," "Sing," "Ride," "Travel" and "Dance."
Other notable celebrities also make an appearance in Apple's latest campaign.
As Details put it, "Wealthy famous people love the Apple Watch. And some of them love it so much they're now starring in ads for it. This week, the tech company quietly released a new batch of twee 15-second commercials (shot against softly lit monochromatic backgrounds that gently call to mind the work of James Turrell or the wholly unrelated video for Drake's 'Hotline Bling') touting the smart watch's features. In the one above, RZA plays the piano and simultaneously increases an eBay bid on what looks like a gold-plated soundboard. Below, Chloë Sevigny pulls together a series of outfits from a big pile of clothes on the ground. The watch's various strap options, of course, work with every one of them."
Whichever your fancy, check out the commercials below and if you can spare the coin, pick up an Apple Watch and outbid eBayers today.
