Fantasy Football Week 5 Projection: Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler

Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler had a solid game this past week, but what should owners expect his Fantasy Football Week 5 projection to look like?

Cutler may not have been the type of franchise quarterback that the Bears thought they would be getting when they originally acquired him, but there is no denying the potential that he possesses. If he were able to play up to his full talent, he would be one of the top quarterbacks in the entire NFL.

So far this season in the three games that Cutler has been able to play in, he has completed 61.4 percent of his passes for 626 yards, four touchdowns and just three interceptions. He certainly has been better than he was last season and the Bears are currently sitting at 1-3. Chicago likely won't make a comeback and get into the playoffs, but they will have a chance to knock off the Kansas City Chiefs this coming week.

Kansas City has quite a few holes in their defensive secondary, which is why Cutler should have a very solid fantasy week for any owner that decides to start him.

Alshon Jeffery has been missing quite a bit of time due to injury this season, which has been hard for the Bears to overcome. Whether or not he gets back on the field this week, Cutler still has some targets to work with. Martellus Bennett is one of the most underrated tight ends in the NFL and Eddie Royal is a very underrated wide receiver as well.

Any time that Cutler takes the field, there is always a chance that he will throw an interception. He does take risks with his throws at times, but those same risks can end up being huge plays that help his team win games.

That being said, he should be able to make quite a few big plays against a beat up Chiefs' defense.

Expect to see Cutler come through with a big game and to put up big fantasy football numbers. If you are debating between Cutler and another middle of the pack quarterback, Cutler would be the wise decision. He is definitely not the most trustworthy quarterback, but he is capable of putting up huge numbers each and every game.
