Just a few short weeks ago all the supermarket tabloids seemed convinced that Cameron Diaz was already pregnant with husband Benji Madden's twins. According to the latest gossip news updates, however, the Mask actress is actually having a little trouble trying to conceive and has started IVF treatments in the hopes of having a baby in the near future.
At the beginning of the month, the gossip magazines all seemed to be claiming in unison that Cameron Diaz had already gotten pregnant with twins.
An insider told Life & Style that without hardly even trying it looked like very soon Cam and Benji would each have their own little mini-me (via HollywoodLife):
"When they found out they were expecting twins, Benji and Cam were in shock, but completely overjoyed.
"Although she's just a few weeks in, Cameron is hoping her babies turn out to be a boy and a girl. She's excited to start shopping for the nursery."
Cut to three weeks later, however, and it's now being reported that not only is Cameron Diaz not pregnant, she is desperately struggling to conceive.
While, the devoted health nut would love to stick to more natural methods of boosting fertility, one source in the latest October 12, issue of OK! Magazine reveals that doesn't appear to be an option any longer:
"Having a baby is all she talks about. Cameron is berry open-minded -- she even tried bathing in Aboriginal waters in Australia, which she heard about from Nicole Kidman.
"Unfortunately it didn't work, so now she's turned to IVF."
According to Diaz' friend, going through with the invasive hormone treatments has not been easy for Cameron, but she is determined to do whatever it takes to conceive:
"This is a trying time for Cam...But she's totally committed to making this pregnancy happen."
What do you think about the gossip magazine's near-constant speculation on Cameron Diaz pregnancy status?
Is it high time that the tabloids found something better to do with their time than make up things about Cam and Benji?
Or, are those publications just reporting the kind of things that people want to hear?
