Vin Diesel may have done his best to make Paul Walker proud with their billon dollar blockbuster, Fast and Furious 7, but Michelle Rodriguez says there are going to try to make the sequel, Fast 8, to their former cast member's specifications. According to Cara Delevingne's ex-girlfriend, Walker always wanted to return to the franchise's roots, and that's exactly what his Universal family plan to do to even further honor his tragic death in a car crash nearly two years ago. In the world outside of movie making, Paul's daughter Meadow, announced that she will be launching the Paul Walker Foundation to ensure that her father's legacy of selfless giving lives on every bit as long as his reputation as a Hollywood leading man.
While most fans have loved the Fast and Furious franchise's ability to endlessly one-up itself, Michelle Rodriguez recently explained that Paul Walker didn't always appreciate the series' over-the-top approach to film making,.
In a recent interview with People, the Resident Evil actor explained that in the next sequel, the team hopes to strip things down a bit in honor of Paul's aesthetic:
"[Paul] wanted to bring it back down to the core, which is the racing...He was always complaining about the special effects and the blue screens.
"I think that's what Vin meant when [he said] his main focus on the next one will be trying to keep it true to that car audience.
"Hopefully we'll be able to do that because it's gotten bigger than ever and you know we also have to stay true to that so it'll be a challenge."
As dedicated as Paul's professional friends and acquaintances are to honoring his memory is, Walker's daughter, Meadow, announced last week on Instagram that she intends to continue her father's legacy of charitable giving.
The 16-year-old took the opportunity of her father's birthday to announce that she is starting a new charity that will serve to benefit both people and animals in need:
"Reflecting on my father, I found myself reflecting on his passions. His passion for the ocean, his passion for rescuing animals, his passion for helping people and his passion for spontaneous goodwill. I wanted to start this foundation because I want to share that piece of him with the world.
"I want to share that part of him with others. I am tremendously proud to be launching The #PaulWalkerFoundation (@paulwalkerfdn) on his birthday. I can't think of a better way to celebrate my father. #DoGood."
Let's hope that Paul's daughter's new charity is just as successful at raising money for poor people as his movies have been at making money for Universal Pictures.
