Ever since Katherine Heigl started to publicly denounce her Grey's Anatomy and Knock Up collaborators, the 36-year-old actress has not had the easiest time finding work in Hollywood. According to the latest gossip updates, the cancellation of State of Affairs brought Heigl to the realization that her husband has had it too good for too long. Word has it that Heigl is pushing hard for country music singer Josh Kelly to stop playing Mr. Mom to their children and get back out on the road to make his family some money. Sure, Katherine has a second shot after being recast in a new Doubt pilot but knows that the show already didn't work once before.
After years of not really staring in anything that could be considered a hit by any metric, Katherine Heigl is said to be starting to worry about having more money going out than is coming in.
Katherine's supposed solution to the problem is to have her husband, Josh Kelly, stop playing with their daughters, Naleigh, 6, and Adalaide, 3, and start playing his guitar.
One source in the latest September 14, issue of Star magazine insists that Katherine couldn't care less if Josh is ready to go back into the studio or not, just as long as he gets out on the road and starts making them some real money:
"Josh doesn't have any new music, but Katherine's pushing him to go on tour with his older stuff.
"Money has been tight and Katherine feels like she's supported the family the best she could.
"Meanwhile, Josh hasn't made an album in four years. It's time for him to step up and start bringing home a paycheck."
Despite whatever frustrations Heigl may or may not be feeling, she isn't finished in Hollywood just yet.
When it came time to breathe new life into their failed Doubt pilot, Deadline reports that CBS came running to the Grey's Anatomy alum:
"CBS originally piloted the project last season with KaDee Strickland and Teddy Sears as Sadie and Billy.
The pilot did not make the cut to series in May...[and] the lead roles of Sadie and Billy were set for recasting.
"The project...centers on Sadie Ellis (Heigl), a smart, chic, successful defense lawyer at a boutique firm who shockingly gets romantically involved with one of her clients, who may or may not be guilty of murdering a 15-year-old girl many years ago."
Let's hope that Katherine finds some modicum of success with this new Doubt pilot -- for Josh's sake if nothing else.
