It seems that X Factor producer and One Direction business manager Simon Cowell has already prepared himself for the possibility of the band breaking up following their scheduled hiatus. According to the latest gossip news updates, the Syco CEO has no plans to pressure Harry Style and the rest of the boys to get back together if it turns out that they truly want to split. In a related story, the report that former NSync band member, Joey Fatone, warned Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne that their days of being famous would be over just as soon as Harry dropped his first solo album is a complete hoax, although a few 1D fans didn't seem to get the joke.
Although the boys of One Direction have only just announced their plans to take a yearlong break from the band, Simon Cowell knows that the group may never actually get back together.
In a recent interview with the Daily Mail, Cowell explained that he would completely understand if the guys' hiatus eventually turns into a full-blown split:
"I hope [they reform], but like I said, it's not going to be because of any pressure from me.
"It really has to be, like we said in the beginning, this is an opportunity, you won it, and I've always had that attitude with them.
"They're nice guys and they're loyal so it'll be fine."
In a related story the mock advice that Joanna Bradley gave the members of One Direction in the guise of an open letter from Joey Fatone at AboveAverage.com was not nearly as optimistic about the fellows' future:
"Harry will record some dope singles with Beyoncé, Ryan Adams and Wiz Khalifa, come out with a killer solo album produced by Pharrell and Timberland, cut his hair, dye his hair, do a second less awesome album, let his hair grow super long and wear it in two braids, crush a self-effacing cameo in a Judd Apatow movie, buzz his hair and release a third, self-produced album on which he hints at being bisexual that everyone will call his 'best work.'"
"The rest of you are fucked."
Although the satirical website seemed to make it pretty clear that the former NSync boybander was not the real author of the article, it appears that quite a few of 1D's heartbroken fans didn't get the joke as they angrily attacked Fatone on Twitter.
What do you think about One Direction's reign possibly coming to an end?
Is it about time that the group breakup -- if for no other reason than to make room for the next generation of boy bands?
Or, would Harry Styles becoming the next Justin Timberlake sans band be the worst thing the world has seen since Truman dropped Big Boy on Japan?
