In their never-ending pursuit to find the perfect cast lineup that will permanently boost The View's ratings, ABC has rehired Joy Behar along with newcomers Candace Cameron Bure and Paula Faris. According to the latest gossip news updates, Rosie O'Donnell, who quit the TV show earlier this year to focus on her health and ongoing divorce from Michelle Rounds, has apparently lost her adopted daughter Chelsea once again. This time, however, O'Donnell know exactly where the girl is; after recently turning 18-years-old, Rosie's little girl decided to move in with her birth mother in Wisconsin.
She might have been away from the show the last couple of years, but Joy Behar insists that she is more than ready for her return to The View later this year.
In an official statement the 72-year-old comedian joked about finally having a proper audience to hear her opine about the Duggar's sex scandal or Kim Kardashian's baby bump (via ABC News):
"Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in.
"Plus, [my husband] Steve was getting tired of applauding every time I gave my opinion.
"I am honored to be a new addition to such a strong group of bright and opinionated women, and I look forward to sharing this exciting journey with viewers new and old."
Let's hope Joy's second run on the series goes better than Rosie O'Donnell, who suddenly quit the show earlier this year seemingly to deal with her impending divorce to Michelle Rounds.
Since leaving the show, O'Donnell's personal life has grown increasingly chaotic as her teenage daughter, Chelsea, left Rosie to go live with her birth mom after going missing for an entire week at the beginning of the month.
Rosie's spokeswoman Cindi Berger explained that since turning 18, O'Donnell's daughter is free to move in with whomever she likes, despite her adopted mother's presumed disapproval (via CNN):
"Chelsea made a decision when she turned 18 that she wanted to go to her birth mother.
"This was her choice."
One source in the latest September 7, issue of OK! Magazine claims that Chelsea's departure was really a longtime coming -- thanks to Rosie's poor parenting:
"It was not a surprise that Chelsea ran away.
"Don't forget, Rosie put her in boarding school when she became too troublesome.
"She needs love and support but there is not stability in that home."
What do you think about Rosie's daughter leaving her to go live with her birth mother?
Is that completely inappropriate given everything O'Donnell has done for her?
Or, should Chelsea focus on getting where she feels most comfortable instead of worrying about her moms' feelings?
