Well, she seems to have done her best, but word has it that Nick Jonas is just not that interested in dating Kendall Jenner. According to the latest gossip news updates, the presumably blind "Chains" singer ultimately found the Keeping Up with the Kardashians' supermodel too "annoying" to be proper girlfriend material. Fortunately, her reality TV show obsessed mother, Kris, is said to have a plan to set up Gigi Hadid's bestie with an even more popular former boy bander, One Direction's Zayn Malik.
There has been plenty of speculation in recent weeks that Nick Jonas is getting serious with Kim Kardashian's little sister, Kendall Jenner, but the former Jonas Brother's frontman wants folks to know that almost none of the rumors are true.
During a recent chat with E! News, Nick explained that although he is definitely guilty of spending a little bit of his free time hanging out with Kendall, he doesn't consider her anything more than a friend of a friend at best:
"We're not dating.
"Kendall is great and naturally with her being good friends with Gigi, and with [my brother] Joe and Gigi dating, there are times we'll be in the same place and we all hang out."
One insider claiming to have all the behind-the-scenes deets told the NY Daily News that, at first, Nick had seriously considered dating Kendall, but after spending a little time with her, Jonas quickly changed his mind:
"They hung out in Vegas and then hung out one or two other times.
"He thinks she's hot, but he thought she was a little annoying and just not his type.
"She's hoping he'll ask her out again, but he won't."
Things may have fizzled between Nick and Kendall, but her mom, Kris Jenner, is said to have someone new already lined up to take his place.
The informant that Hollywood Life spoke to insists that Kris has had her eye on One Direction's Zayn Malik joining the Keeping Up with the Kardashians family for a while now, and hopes that the 19-year-old supermodel will be able to convince this one to sign up for the long haul:
"Kris would love to see Kendall in a relationship with somebody famous, and Zayn would fit the ticket perfectly.
"She thinks he's adorable, sweet and talented, not to mention incredibly handsome.
"Kris is playing matchmaker. She has even gone so far as to invite Zayn over for an intimate family dinner with Kendall, of course."
