Word has it that Mariah Carey has had enough of Nick Cannon's stalling and is ready to do whatever it takes to get the America's Got Talent host to sign off on their divorce. According to the latest gossip news updates, the Infinity singer is so ready to get married to her new boyfriend, James Packer, that she feels something must be done to move this marital rift along. It could be that Mariah just isn't willing to split any of her money from joining the cast of Empire, after the hip-hop TV show's creator, Lee Daniels, recently promised that Carey would definitely be featured in the Season 2. If there is any tension, however, it probably has more to do with who gets custody of their twins, Moroccan and Monroe, than it does Mariah's net worth.
From the looks of her dinner guests last Wednesday night, the super-sleuths at TMZ have deduced that Marah Carey is looking to put some pressure on her soon-to-be ex-husband, Nick Cannon.
After seeing Carey taking her divorce lawyers out to eat, the website concluded that Mariah must be unhappy with how slowly things seem to be panning out:
"She had dinner with her divorce lawyers this week to come up with a plan to put the screws to Nick Cannon, who's dragging his feet in their divorce, and at the same time assuring new boyfriend, James Packer, she'll be free to marry him soon."
Regardless of whatever is going on between Nick and Mariah in court, one source in the latest August 17, issue of Life & Style claims that despite their divorce, Carey made sure to call in and check on Cannon after he was recently hospitalized for exhaustion related to his lupus:
"When Mariah found out, she called Nick to make sure he was doing OK.
"Even though they are not together, they're still very close."
While Nick is clearly overworking himself here in recent weeks, Mariah too is said to be adding on to her busy schedule.
During a recent interview, Empire showrunner Lee Daniels claimed that fans of the show would soon be seeing Mariah in Season 2 of the popular series (via CNN):
"Watch her on Empire, you guys. She's coming on Empire."
What do you think about Maraih's reportedly coming to Empire?
Should she make sure she doesn't find herself as burnt out as her ex-husband?
Or, is it about time they actually got Mariah in the cast instead of actresses just trying to act like her?
