Although no one seems certain exactly how Paul Walker's brother, Cody, is supposed to fit into Fast and Furious 8 now that we no longer be needed as a CGI stand-in, Kurt Russell's part of Mr. Nobody practically writes itself. According to the latest gossip news updates, Vin Diesel all but confirmed that that the Hollywood icon will have a key role in the new movie by posting a picture of them onset together to Instagram. Whatever happens, you can be rest easy knowing that Diesel makes sure this new film makes its Universal release date. It addition to adding another billion-and-a-half dollars to the studio's net worth, Furious 7 catapulted Vin into the coveted position of the third highest paid actor in Hollywood last year.
Following his trend of breaking major Fast and Furious news via social media, Vin Diesel seemed to confirm that he and Kurt Russell were already back at work on the latest installment by posting a picture Mr. Nobody on Fast set to Instagram:
During a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Kurt explained that as best he understood things, his character was going to be a part of the franchise for a few more movies to come (via EnStarz):
"I got an idea, a sense of what Vin maybe wants to do in the future that this character could be a good part of.
"We created somebody that I think is, you know, he's a mystery man, he's 'Mr. Nobody' we never know his name and you never know quite what world he's in and I think that's what's fun and exciting about it.
"It works, because I understand what it is and we came up with it. It's like, 'Oh, wow! That's cool!'"
It looks like a role on any Fast and Furious film may just be too lucrative to pass up -- no matter how well established a Hollywood staple one may be.
According to Forbes, the latest installment in the franchise launched Vin Diesel's 2015 personal net worth into the stratosphere -- coming in just under Ironman and Jackie Chan (via Time):
"[Robert Downing Jr.] star earned a staggering $80 million in the past year to top the annual World's Highest-Paid Actors list.
"The 50-year-old actor was followed by a somewhat surprising entrant in the runner-up spot -- Hong Kong comedy and action star Jackie Chan.
"Chan earned $50 million between June 2014 and June 2015 and was followed by the Fast and Furious franchise's leading man Vin Diesel with $47 million."
