Eros International, motion picture distributors, and John Abraham raising the ire of Salman Khan is not a good thing. Of course, when you look at the facts, they were in a way innocent bystanders. On June 29th, Abraham sent out a tweet announcing that his new film Welcome Back would be released on September 4th. Three days later, Salman tweets out that Hero, the film he is producing, will also be releasing on September 4th. Both will be distributed by Eros International.
One has to be pushed back. It just makes sense from a business perspective not to release two blockbusters on the same day. That's business suicide. The question is will it be John Abraham's film or Salman Khan's? This from The Indian Express, "here are reports that when Eros approached Salman to resolve this matter, he sternly maintained that he will release 'Hero' on September 4. This leaves John Abraham and producer Firoz Nadiadwala with no choice but to move their release date by a week."
Khan reiterated this sentiment in a tweet he fired out, essentially expressing his mindset."Back off...HERO coming on 4th September," For his part, John Abraham won't be intimidated by press, fans or peers. He has a past with Salman. They've had their differences, but who in India hasn't had their disagreements with King Khan.
As of now, it's a stalemate. Neither are backing down. Major machismo is at stake in this battle more so than merely pushing a release date. This feud between two of Bollywood's hunkiest actors is alive and well and showing no signs of ending anytime soon.
