Nintendo let a lot of fans down when the unveiled the trailer for the new trailer for Metroid Prime: Federation Force for the 3DS. The game, which doesn’t feature series star Samus Aran (who will make an appearance but not as a playable character) has been widely panned by fans. A Change.org petion to stop the game has even been made, gaining a lot of support from angry gamers. Now, Nintendo is responding to the backlash.
Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime recently spoke to Mashable where he admitted that fans were disappointed with the Metroid Prime: Federation Force E3:
"What the fan at home saw was something in the Metroid Prime universe that they weren't expecting. The reaction has been negative. There's no sugar coating it."
However, Fils-Aime is certain that fans will be singing a different tune once they get their hands on a copy of the game, adding:
"This is an example where fans who aren't able to get their hands on the game may be at a bit of a competitive disadvantage. Everyone who has played what we are showing regarding Metroid Prime, they've come across really pleased. My ask is that fans trust us."
What did you think about the trailer? Do you trust Nintendo on this one? Do you think fans are willing to take the gamble and buy the game or should Nintendo make a demo available before release? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section at the bottom of the page.
