The tabloid media can try to turn it around on her all they like, but Australian hip-hop queen, Iggy Azalea, isn't taking back her comments about Britney Spears' team dropping the ball on their lackluster promotion of the not-so-hit single, "Pretty Gils." According to the latest gossip news updates, Jennifer Lopez' "Booty" collaborator isn't looking to start a personal feud with the "Toxic" icon but insists that friendship doesn't mean you have to "suck the woman's -sshole" in agreement on every issue. Perhaps, Iggy should ultimately give Britney a bit of a break considering how closely the release of that single coincides with Spears' split from former boyfriend, Charlie Ebersol.
If Iggy Azalea thought that the decidedly pro Britney press was going to allow her to shift responsibly for the failure of "Pretty Girls" solely onto Britney Spears shoulders without some sort of pushback, it seems she was mistaken.
It appears that the controversy first started yesterday when a Twitter Q&A revealed that Iggy didn't exactly feel that Spears and her team did their best to plug the less than successful single (via Us Weekly):
"It's difficult to send a song up the charts without additional promo and TV performances etc...unfortunately, I'm just featured."
While it might seem like the easiest thing to do would be to just apologize for the shade if it comes off as offensive, Azalea let everyone know on Twitter that she has no plans to take back what she feels was an honest criticism of her friend's professionalism:
“My comment is factual, it applies to any song.
“I don’t have to suck the woman’s -sshole 24/7 to be her friend, do I? Bye girls.”
Given that Britney just recently broke up with her ex-boyfriend, Charlie Eberson, perhaps Iggy should be more understanding, but the source July 6, issue of Star magazine actuals claims that Spears was more than ready to be done with the TV producer by the time he finally split:
"Charlie enjoyed spending time with Britney and her boys...[but] the truth is, they just didn't have anything in common.
"It drove Charlie nuts when he wanted to discuss current events, and Britney had no idea he wanted to discuss current events, and Britney had no idea what he was talking about!"
It seems like the consensus in Hollywood is that hooking up with Britney Spears is somehow not near as fulfilling as you hoped it would be.
