Whenever Las Vegas' 'Piece of Me' diva, Britney Spears, falls in love she always seems to fall hard and fast, and such is said to be the case with her new boyfriend, Charlie Ebersol. According to the latest gossip news updates, the "Toxic" singer wants to get married to her reported fiancé as soon as humanly possible, but her dad, Jamie Spears, is said to have exercised his conservatorship over his unbalanced daughter once again -- postponing all weddings until a time when he feels more comfortable with her relationships moving forward. Word has it that her would-be-television-producer-husband has no problem pumping the brakes with his future bride if it will make her supposedly paranoid father feel better about their dating.
Britney Spears has made absolutely no secret of her ever-deepening feelings for current beau, Charlie Ebersol, since starting their relationship on the heels of her failed engagement to David Lucado; so it might make sense if her father was a little skeptical of her ability to come to the right decision when it dealing with men.
One source claiming to have all the behind-the-scenes details insists in the May, 4 issue of the less than reputable National Enquirer that Jamie Spears did in fact have to recently put the kibosh on Charlie and Brit's wedding plans, but his daughter most assuredly did not understand the motivations behind his trepidations:
"She threw a tantrum.
"[But Charlie] helped Jamie convince Britney it's okay to wait by giving her a huge promise ring!"
Regardless if it was her postponed wedding ceremony that distracted Spears or all the shiny Las Vegas lights, Britney took an embarrassing spill off the 'Piece of Me' Caesars Palace stage right in the middle of singing "(You Drive Me) Crazy" to the Sin City crowd last night.
According to E! Online, the aging popstar even twisted her ankle in the fall, but Spears managed to save a little face thanking everyone for their well wishes on Twitter shortly after wrapping the traumatic concert:
"Thank you for all of the sweet wishes!
"Had a little scare on stage tonight with my ankle but I'm ok!"
Let's hope this isn't Britney Spears' way of letting her dad know that she means business with this early wedding deadline and is willing to throw herself of off that Las Vegas stage time-and-time again until he finally gives her what she wants, because you can't put anything past Britney.
