Although it doesn't really seem like it wasn't all that long ago that she was said to be very much in love with ex-boyfriend, David Lucado, Britney Spears it rumored to be on the very precipice of breaking the news once again that she is engaged. According to the latest gossip news updates, the "Toxic" Las Vegas singer and her boyfriend, Charlie Ebersol, currently talk non-stop about their wedding plans, but Ebersol doesn't want to make it official until he can pop the question in some sort of novel way. Word has it that Britney hasn't been getting along near as well with Planet Hollywood newcomer, Jennifer Lopez, however. Spears reportedly has a big chip on her shoulder regarding the American Idol judge's decision to bring her desert residency to the very same casino at which she happens to be performing.
It looks like the time to hesitate is finally though, and Britney Spears and Charlie Ebersol will soon be announcing their plans to spend the rest of their lives together.
A source claiming to have all the behind-the-scenes engagement details explains in the June 15, issue of Life & Style that all Britney is waiting on is for Charlie to finally decide when the timing is just right for him to make his move:
"Even though they've been talking about their wedding he wants to surprise her.
"He's been planning a proposal for a month now...They talk about getting married all the time.
"Britney has never been happier than she is now with Charlie!"
According to the informant, Britney has even started planning exactly what kind of wedding she wants this time of around:
"She wants something simple but memorable, nothing too over-the-top."
Word has it that Britney has also decided that there's probably no use inviting Jennifer Lopez, because if she wants to come she'll probably just show up all of a sudden to take Spears place just like she's done at Planet Hollywood.
One of Spears little henchmen told InTouch that Spears was "livid" that J Lo didn't have the decently to take her business to a gin joint that wasn't already spoken for:
"Britney wants to be the only headliner at Planet Hollywood.
"J Lo could have gone elsewhere, but instead she'll be trying to steal her spotlight.
"Britney thinks it's a slap in the face...It's definitely going to be a diva battle."
At 12-years her senior and still twice as sexy and relevant, it seems doubtful that Jennifer Lopez is someone that Britney Spears really wants to mess with -- Las Vegas residency or not.
