In order to more fully concentrate on his role of a lifetime as Bajirao, Ranveer Singh has decided to move out of his family home for the time being and closer to the set of his newest film, Bajirao Mastani, opposite real life, alleged love interest Deepika Padukone, who plays Mastani. Ranveer's commitment to this film from day one has been, so far noted by observers, as beyond reproach.
Ranveer's career is on a high point at the moment. He received acclaim as Kabeer in Dil Dhadakne Do. For the role of Bajirao, Ranveer has had to make a total commitment. Currently, he shoots for 12 hours a day and spends another 4 in physiotherapy to strengthen the shoulder he had injured, previous to taking on his new role. It is necessary because of the intense activity the film demands. Says a source working on the film, "The therapist comes home, but with the onset of the monsoons and daily traffic jams, Ranveer realized that commuting to and from work would not only be an ordeal, but time consuming, too. That is why he has bought this new apartment."
Ranveer keeps up the role by constantly staying in character. He chose to live in semi-isolation. As Mumbai gets drenched with rain, Ranveer's decision to move closer was a no brainer.
"This move will help him stay in character. He has shaved off his hair for the role and consciously stayed in semi-isolation, away from cell phones, before the film went on floors. Now he needs all the spare time that he can manage, in order to heal and concentrate on the part. It's a practical decision," added the source.
It's a rare role and Ranveer knows it's the type that don't come around that often so he plans to make the most of the opportunity.
