From the outside looking in it is really starting to seem like the entire Simpson family might be struggling to get a handle on their relationship with alcohol. According to the latest gossip news updates, fashion mogul Jessica Simpson's drinking has gotten so bad that her mom, Tina, is reportedly ready to go to rehab with her daughter, even though Joe Simpson's engaged ex-wife is said to have her demons very much under control. Jess's pregnant sister, Ashlee, is also said to being drawing her fair share of awkward glances as she is supposed to often accompany her husband, Evan Ross, whenever he goes out for a drink -- baby bump and all.
The more that Jessica Simpson appears to be out of control in public, the more the supermarket tabloids seem to focus on i,t and word has it, the coverage is really starting to break her mom, Tina's heart.
One source claiming to be a close friend of the family's explains in the June 22, issue of Life & Style that Jessica's bad behavior has her mom, who has reportedly struggled with own fondness for alcohol in the past, suggesting that going to rehab with her daughter may be the only way to turn things around for Nick Lachey's ex:
"Jessica's drinking has gotten out of control, and she uses Adderall as a diet drug...one minute she's fine and the next she's talking nonsense and acting all crazy.
"When Jessica got drunk in front of everyone at Sayers Club, it broke Tina's heart...It was a big wake up call."
According to the informant, now that Tina is looking at getting remarried to her longtime friend, John Goldstein, she thinks it can't hurt to look into some of her own issue before she commits, and if she can help he daughter out along the way, it certainly wouldn't hurt:
"Going to rehab with Jessica means she can kill two birds with one stone.
"Tina sees it as a win-win for mother and daughter."
Word has it that Ashlee too is starting to get a reputation for her hard partying, while pregnant with her second baby, but a friend pointed out to OK! Magazine this week that Ashlee doesn't have to get drunk when she's goes out to have a good time:
"Ashlee and Evan made a promise to each other that they want to keep their marriage fun and exciting.
"So even though she's heavily pregnant, she loves tagging along with him.
"She doesn't drink [though] and is taking good care of herself."
Well, at least, someone is.
