It looks Jessica Simpson's drinking may truly be out of control after seemingly stumbling out of The Sayers Club last week with a helpless Eric Johnson in tow. According to the latest gossip news updates, in addition to causing irreparable damage to her marriage, the fashion mogul near-constant drinking is also causing friends and family to drive themselves sick with worry. It has even been rumored that an intervention had been staged weeks prior to Daisy Dukes' meltdown at Evan Ross' concert, but apparently Jessica wasn't willing to even consider rehab without a few more public embarrassments under her belt.
While we all have off days, it seems that former sex-symbol Jessica Simpson has been making a habit of them here lately.
After several bizarre interviews from earlier in the year got people asking questions about Jessica's drinking, Simpson put on quite the show once again last Tuesday night while exiting The Sayers Club with some much needed physical assistance from her husband, Eric Johnson.
As bad as things looked outside -- with the former pro-footballer holding onto his wife for dear life -- one eyewitness at the Evan Ross show that night explains in the June 22, issue of InTouch that things looked even more embarrassing inside the club:
"Jess was having a blast dancing to all of Evan's songs...but after several cocktails she couldn't even stand up straight. She was swaying back and forth, and her dress was falling off!
"He was taking her drinks away and trying to get her to sit down, but she wouldn't listen to him.
"Eventually Eric realized he had to get her out of there...[but] he had to hold her up when they left."
One furious friend of the family told The National Enquirer that those closest to Jess are as frustrated as they are frightened by Simpson's heavy drinking:
"This should be all the proof that's needed to send Jess straight to rehab before she drinks herself to death!
"All of her friends are worried sick about her.
"This has gone on far too long. She's hit rock bottom!"
According to InTouch's informant, everyone is just kind of hoping against hope this this latest fiasco will be every bit of the wakeup call that Jessica needs to get her life back on track:
"Her family is scared to death. They've begged her to go to rehab.
"Now they are praying she'll listen before it's too late."
Like anyone couldn't have a few too many drinks while getting down at an Evan Ross show.
