Ssharad Malhotra and Divyanka Tripathi were supposed to last forever. They were soulmates, but your soulmate can find a new shiny toy and be off in a second and deny you ever existed, faster than gossip websites can slander Deepika Padukone. So, what happened? Their relationship was supposed to be under the radar, with no pressure or intense media scrutiny from the media. Life is complicated and, as in the couple's case life, things got messy, for nothing stays private for very long.
Bollywood Life obtained a quote from a source lose to the couple,"Ssharad's meandering ways forced Divyanka to pull the plug. Apparently Divyanka came to know of Ssharad's fling with his Maharana Pratap co-star Rachna Parulkar." The source also added, "Rachna was previously rumoured to have also been involved with married co- star Ashish Choudhary, when they were working together on Zee TV's Ek Mutthi Aasmaan."
To further mess up the situation, Divyan was hoping to settle down with her boyfriend of 9 years. After considerable speculation by the media and friends, the once paramours released a statement that read , "The decision of calling off the relationship is mutual. We had a beautiful journey and the most lovely memories are helping us part ways cordially. Yet, it's a painful process and speculations only increase the pain. We request the media to be considerate. This is the final word on this subject and we won't be talking about what went wrong in our relationship. We believe it wasn't destined to last."
What made this break up so hard to understand was the fact that the couple remained so secretive about their relationship, so everyone was left guessing and deeply hurt when it was revealed they were breaking up. Neither elaborated on why either.
Bollywood Life was finally able to gain an exclusive from the heartbroken Divyanka, "It has been a very difficult phase for me. The reason being I was in this relationship for about eight-nine years. I won't blame him for everything. Actually, I do (laughs). But still, there are certain things which I believe even I was at fault. For example, we make this man the center of our world. We believe our life is a fairytale, brought up by a prince charming and you live happily ever after. Why can't a woman independently have a happy ending?"
Divyanka's last words on the matter can definitely serve as life lessons for us, " I was there for him at every hour. I would sleep for lesser hours, just to keep him happy. But the same didn't apply on him. We women are fools to do so much for the man we love. And we forget to stand for ourselves. Now I ask myself, why did I do all that? The most important lesson I have learnt through this relationship is- don't ever lose your identity in making others happy."
