The official plot synopsis for tonight’s penultimate episode of Game of Thrones, titled “The Dance of Dragons,” reads:
Tonight’s title of tonight’s episode bares a strong resemblance to the fifth book in George R.R. Martin’s series, A Song of Ice and Fire, A Dance with Dragons.
The sixth novel in the series, The Winds of Winter has still not been released, however, George R.R. Martin has recently announced plans to finish the book by 2016.
Recently, Martin spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the his plans hunker down and finish the book by the end:
“Maybe I’m being overly optimistic about how quickly I can finish. But I canceled two convention appearances, I’m turning down a lot more interviews--anything I can do to clear my decks and get this done.”
