Mariah Carey's plan to get her fans refocused on her career instead of her impending divorce to Nick Cannon hit another hiccup this week when the Rockefeller Christmas Center crooner cancelled Wednesday night's concert in Las Vegas citing the onset of a sudden case of bronchitis. According to the latest gossip news updates, however, the "Hero" singer is really lying about being sick because she hasn't properly rehearsed for the long string of Infinity #1 tour dates. At least, Carey's soon-to-be America's Got Talent host ex-husband has nothing but nice things to say about the mother of his twin children, Monroe and Moroccan -- going as far as to sing her praises in an Instagram update on Mother's Day.
After reportedly suffering low ticket sales during her world tour, followed by a disastrous run of concerts in the states over the holiday season, Mariah Careh's career can hardly take another hammer blow, but just his week Mariah cancelled one of the very first shows form his Las Vegas Infinity tour residency.
While Mariah and her brand new publicist have done their best to try to convince her disgruntled fans that Wednesday night's cancellation was out of their hands on Instagram, one behind-the-scenes whistleblower claims that that just isn't the case.
According to the Infinity informant that spoke to the New York Daily News, the real reason Carey cancelled was simply due to her lack of preparation leading up to what is supposed to be her big come back:
"Mariah simply didn't rehearse enough before starting this many concerts and now she's feeling it.
"Leading up to the first show, everyone involved was wondering why this wasn't rehearsed to death."
The Las Vegas spy insists that Carey can still carry a tune but no one has been able to figure out how to combat the fact the she has the charisma of a microphone stand on stage once the show gets started:
"She can sing, but she hardly walks during the show.
"They're always wheeling her out on some prop."
Although it would be rather easy for Nick Cannon to take potshots at his almost-ex-wife being that she is so clearly her own worst enemy, the Wild n Out rapper has been saying nothing but the nicest things about Carey since they split.
Nick told People magazine that the secret to his success of maintaining a positive relationship with Mariah stemmed from his ability to preserve a proper sense of perspective in difficult situations:
"Just staying focused and putting priorities in order.
"Being able to just step out and control whatever you can control, and the things that you can't, you just keep it moving...At the end of the day, that's what it's all about."
Let's just hope that Mariah Carey can keep it together enough to continue to help Nick raise their beautiful kids.
