The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new Season 6 finale of The Vampire Diaries, titled “I'm Thinking of You All the While,” reads:
“Season 6 ends with Elena in jeopardy when an uninvited guest arrives. Meanwhile, Bonnie takes matters in her own hands when she is put on the receiving end of a twisted plan; Damon is faced with the most difficult decision of his life; and Stefan realizes the lengths to which his mother will go to reunite with her ‘family.’"
It has been rumored that Nina Dobrev was leaving the series because of her breakup with Ian Somerhalder and his new relationship to, now wife, Nikki Reed. Recently, Nina opened up about her breakup with Ian, telling E! News:
"I've said this before, that we didn't break up because anything bad happened or because there wasn't love or friendship. I love him and the friendship is still strong and I think he's great and I care about him. And that didn't change. Yes, we're professional and that's fine. We were friends long before we dated and we still are now."
Nina went on to talk about Ian and Nikki’s recent wedding:
"When I heard about the wedding, I thought it was beautiful. They look happy and I am happy and so I don't see why there should be a problem with that. The drama is in the media, it's not with us. But of course, we're on a teen drama show, everyone's going to look for drama. If there's no drama, there's nothing to write about. I just ignore it."
