Michelle Rounds may be hell bound and determined to win full custody of her adopted daughter, Dakota, from for View co-host Rosie O'Donnell, but her attempts to bring the League of Their Own star's supposed drug abuse into their divorce has seemingly stalled. According to the latest gossip news updates, a California judge has ruled that the 53-year-old comedienne will not be subject to random drug testing, despite her soon-to-be ex-wife's insistence that she smokes excessive amounts of marijuana and drinks a bottle of wine nearly every single night.
It looks like Rosie O'Donnell and Michelle Rounds are quickly setting the new standard for horrible Hollywood divorces with allegations circulating that the famous funny woman is an unfit parent who boozes her way through her responsibilities.
A source claiming to be close to Michelle explains in the May 18, issue of OK! Magazine that Rounds really is motivated solely out of concern for her child's safety:
"The fight has been building for a while.
"Rosie drinks every night and often smokes weed...Michelle gave her ultimatums but Rosie refused to stop. Michelle has griped all the time about the lack of discipline in their home.
"She thinks sees kids as accessories or friends rather than people she's responsible for."
Despite Rounds attempts to bring Rosie's alleged marijuana abuse into the court battle for custody of their adopted daughter, Dakota, TMZ has learned that the California Court doesn't think that O'Donnell is the irresponsible custodian that her wife's lawyers makes her out to be:
"The judge shot down Michelle's drug test request saying it wasn't necessary, at least for now.
"We're told the judge is satisfied Rosie is a capable parent so there will be no strings attached to their current 50/50 custody agreement."
One of Rounds friends recently told Star that this may be a legal setback, but there is no way that Michelle will allow her plans to be so easily thwarted:
"Michelle will stop at nothing to get full custody -- and since Rosie will never grant it to her, it's only going to get worse."
Let's hope for the sake of their daughter that Rosie and Michelle will soon begin to focusing on successfully co-parenting instead of trying to destroy one another's reputations.
