Readers may anticipate a restrained narrative in the upcoming biography of Hollywood legend Liza Minnelli, since the diva prefers to avoid delving into the contentious aspects of her turbulent past.

The legendary 78-year-old has apparently decided to keep her turbulent past of substance addiction private, has not spoken out about her experiences at New York's Studio 54 club, and has no plans to talk about her father's sexual orientation.

She also has no plans to talk about her father's sexual orientation.

According to a source familiar with the publishing industry who spoke to Radar Online, Minnelli is facing a dilemma regarding the extent of truth she is willing to reveal. With her memory not as sharp as before, she is reportedly reluctant to go into the darker and more controversial aspects of her past.

"If she won't even admit that, what chance is there of her opening up about anything personal? Zero! The book will just be a dry PR job and that won't shift many copies at all. No one wants to read a boring promo book."

During the '70s era following the Watergate scandal, Studio 54 emerged as the epicenter of hedonistic partying, attracting a diverse crowd of regulars, including the iconic Broadway star.

According to one writer, "It was a magnet for beautiful stars, casual sex, and mounds of cocaine. A den of excess that defined its own rules and enshrined the ostracised, queer, and fabulous."

"Studio 54 was a place where the broke and marginalized could rub shoulders (and probably more) with the rich and famous, the club's ethos being that money didn't matter but personality, outlook, style, and, above all, enthusiasm for life did."

They went on, "Andy Warhol, Liza Minnelli, Elizabeth Taylor, Debbie Harry, Grace Jones, Michael Jackson, Calvin Klein, Elton John, Rick James, Truman Capote, Freddie Mercury, Ric Flair, Lou Reed, Al Pacino, Cher, David Bowie, Salvador Dalí, Robin Williams and Jackie Kennedy Onassis were all regulars."

Minelli's dad Vincente was known for concealing his true sexual orientation. Despite being celebrated as a prominent filmmaker during the 1940s, many biographers now suggest that he may have been among the first gay or bisexual individuals to navigate a society that was not fully accepting of diverse sexual identities.

Classicalite could not independently verify the outlet's claims.

The book will explore Minnelli's life story, from her early years as the daughter of legendary Judy Garland to her breakthrough success in the popular musical Cabaret. It was written with the help of Pulitzer Prize winner Heidi Evans and former Los Angeles Times staffer Josh Getlin.

"Since I was old enough to put pencil to paper, people asked me to write books about my career," she said in an August statement to PEOPLE.

"'Absolutely not! 'Tell it when I'm gone!' Was my philosophy."
