Producers announced that "Stereophonic," the Tony Award-winning play by David Adjmi centered around a '70s rock band reminiscent of Fleetwood Mac, has successfully recovered its Broadway investment.

Reports indicate that the financial backing for the Broadway show has reached a peak of $4.8 million.

Plans are now underway for a West End run and a national US tour set to kick off later this year.

In its last week at the Golden Theatre, the Broadway production that has been extended twice is wrapping up its successful run on Sunday, January 12, following a total of 305 performances.

"Stereophonic" made headlines at the Tony Awards last season as the Broadway production with the most nominations. It received five awards—Best Director, Best Featured Actor, Best Scenic Design, Best Sound Design, and Best Play—out of its thirteen nominations.

In May 2025, the Duke of York's Theatre in London will host the UK production's debut.

The story chronicles the turbulent path of an unnamed band on the verge of stardom. The set is in a recording studio on the West Coast in the 1970s.

"Stereophonic" debuted off-Broadway at Playwrights Horizons in 2023. The Broadway show garnered full or nearly full crowds when it began on April 19, 2024, and its intended 14-week run was extended twice due to its success.

According to reports, the play earned $965,174, placing it among the Broadway season's highest-grossing non-musical productions.

The US tour will start at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle, where the Broadway at the Paramount/STG 2025–2026 season will debut.

More details will be announced soon.
