Ever since it was announced that Spider-Man was swinging over from Sony to Disney/Marvel, for an epic Spidey-Avengers crossover, casting rumors have been popping up everywhere. Community's Donald Glover and Bates Motel star Freddie Highmore were just two of the many possible casting rumors that have spinning around the web. However, it was recently announced that Marvel is looking to cast a younger actor for the role of Peter Parker. Now Fault in Our Stars and Naked Brothers Band actor Nat Wolff is believed to be up for the role.
MTV recently spoke to Wolff about the casting rumors where he gave the typical "know nothing dodge,” stateing:
“I honestly don’t know anything about Spider-Man. I have no idea. I plead the fifth!”
Marvel’s President of Production, Kevin Feige, revealed opened up about wanting to cast a teenage Peter Parker, stating (via Collider):
“In terms of the age of an actor we’ll eventually to cast, I don’t know. In terms of the age of what we believe Peter Parker is, I’d say 15-16 is right...We want to play with Spider-Man in the high school years because frankly there’ve been five Spider-Man films and the amazing thing about it is, even though there’ve been five Spider-Man films, there are so many things from the comics that haven’t been done yet.”
What do you think? Do you want to see Nat Wolff cast as Spider-Man? Who else would you want to see play Peter Parker? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section at the bottom of the page.
