Star of VH1 's reality TV show, Simply Nicole and devoted mother, Nicole Richie is said to be terribly unhappy in her marriage to Good Charlotte husband, Joel Madden. According to the latest gossip news updates, the Voice Australia coach and Paris Hilton's former bestie can't even agree on what to feed their two kids and are strongly considering getting a divorce just to save their own sanity. It seems that Lionel's daughter may have talked workout buddy Cameron Diaz into joining the family just to have someone to commiserate with while their men are away.
In recent week's Nicole Richie's marriage to Joel Madden has been the subject of constant tabloid scrutiny, but that might be because the couple are genuinely on the precipice of a full-blown marital meltdown.
A source close to the family, explains in the April 27, issue of In Touch Weekly that Nicole and Joel work hard at avoiding each other instead of working of their relationship:
"They've been spending more time apart because all they do is fight when they're together.
"They're on the brink of divorce."
According to the informant, neither Joel nor Nicole are very good at compromising for the sake of the other's happiness -- so everyone is miserable:
"Nicole can be very forceful when she doesn't get her way, and Joel doesn't respond well to that.
"For example, Nicole been on a health kick and wants the kids on the same diet...but when Joel's around, he lets them have candy and juice boxes and whatever they want -- it makes her furious."
The friend of the family that Radar Online talked to didn't go out of their way to pin their problems on juice boxes but did suggest the same sad prognoses for their relationship if things don't improve drastically in the not-too-distant future:
"Nicole and Joel are going through a very tough time right now and their friends do not think that their marriage is going to survive.
"Joel is saying that he cannot take it anymore and that neither of them are happy when they are together."
The Radar spy also clarified that it's not so much that Nicole and Joel are avoiding each other, as it is Madden often just refuses to come home:
"Everyone is mainly concerned with their children and Joel has not been actively participating in their lives.
"Nicole, on the other hand, is always the one taking her kids to and from school, but she has lost even more weight and has not had a smile on her face for almost a year."
Let's hope that some of Cameron and Benji's mojo rub off on the Richies before it's too late.
