Veronica Roth Defends Shailene Woodley and Theo James Divergent Movies Spoilers Ending [NEWS]

It may shock fans of the new Divergent movies to learn that Shailene Woodley and Theo James definitely aren't going to live happily ever after at the end of Allegiant. According to the latest gossip news updates, the same fans that keep pushing for the movie star couple to date in real-life have been pressure the author of the series, Veronica Roth, to change the way things work out in the fourth film, so Tris doesn't have to die, while her less-than-special Insurgent boyfriend goes lives to watch the credits role. Roth insists, however, that the Fault in Our Stars sex-symbol loves the overly dramatic original ending, so she's keeping it.

The tween-age fans of the Divergent franchise can bitch and moan all they like but Veronica Roth wrote her super-successful trilogy the way she did for a reason, and the 26-year-old young adult author isn't rewritingit for anybody -- unless Shailene Woodley changes her mind of course.

During a recent interview with Vulture, Roth explained that she completely understands where some of her fans are coming from when they ask her to film a happier ending to the epic, but since Shailene, who plays the lead in the 4-part movie trilogy, likes things the way they are, she's not changing a thing:

"Right. I talked to Shailene about how she reacted to the ending, and she really enjoyed the way that it ended.

"I wrote Allegiant that way because I thought that was the way it needed to be told, and so I feel very strongly about it, obviously."

It makes sense that Roth would have such a close friendship with Shailene, given the relationship Woodley seems to develop with the authors associated with all her projects.

Just last week, it was Woodley, after all, who was gushing all over original Fault in Our Stars author, John Green, as she accepted the MTV 2015 Best Female Performance Award for her participation in the picutre (via Variety):

"I feel like this award belongs to John Green.

"He gave this world a beautiful masterpiece, a gift in The Fault in Our Stars.

"It changed my life when I read it and being a part of this film dramatically influenced who I am today."

After being virtually guaranteed that Woodley would praise her too high heaven during awards season next year if she play her cards right, it's no wonder Veronica Roth asks Shailene what she thinks before making any final decisions ot the Divergent game plan.
