Divergent hero Shailene Woodley's star is still clearly on the rise, even if her Insurgent boyfriend, Theo James, may have to scale his ambitions back a bit for the time being. Not only did Shailene win Best Kiss alongside her The Fault in Our Stars co-star, Ansel Elgort, at the 2015 MTV Movie Awards this week, the White Bird in a Blizzard sex-symbol took home the Best Female Performance trophy as well. According to the latest gossip news updates, Theo on the other hand is having to deal with watching his dream of becoming the next major Underworld action star die. Word has it that now that Kate Beckinsale has agreed to make another vampire film, James is once again being relegated to the back burner.
It's true that Ansel Elgort couldn't make it out to the 2015 MTV Movie Awards the other night because he is working on the east coast, but that didn't stop the EDM DJ from celebrating his Best Kiss win with Shailene Woodley on Instagram:
Despite also taking home the Award for Best Female Performance for her role in The Fault in Our Stars as well, Shailene didn't let all the adoration go to her head -- giving the credit for winning to the author of the book that inspired the film, John Green:
"Thank you, [but] I feel like this belongs to John Green, because he gave this world a beautiful masterpiece -- a gift in book The Fault in Our Stars.
"It changed my life when I read it...and dramatically influenced who I am today."
While Shailene seems to have the Midas touch right now, her Divergent boyfriend, Theo James, is having some trouble even being allowed to try and carry a movie by himself.
Despite month-and-months of reports out of Hollywood that Theo was all set to virtually replace Kate Beckinsale in the Underworld franchise, James broke the news to DigitalSpy in a recent interview that it looked like Kate was going to be doing all the heavy lifting once again, after all (via Franchise Herald):
"No, they have something in the works, but my involvement in it is...I think it's going be very difficult to do that with these [Divergent] movies, and my other commitments."
That excuse might make a lot more since if Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort and Shailene Woodley weren't all involved in making movies during their current Divergent downtime.
